There are nine school districts in Montgomery County. Conroe ISD is the largest and encompasses the Conroe area and much of The Woodlands. Montgomery ISD is the second largest and encompasses much of the Lake Conroe area. The Willis ISD encompasses much of northeast Montgomery County and the Magnolia ISD encompasses much of the southwest part of the county. Splendora and New Caney ISDs are in east county. Rounding out the nine are slivers of the Tomball, Cleveland and Richards ISDs.
